Footprints of hope.

September 27th, 2009, Footprints of hope walk began at Cape Reinga, finishing at Stewart Island on Christmas Day. The team of four walkers (Tim, Alex, Rex and Sharon) could never have walked "Light a Candle" song and hope torch the 2,500 km length of NZ without the unconditional support of the individuals, schools, councils and communities who fed, housed and took care of them along the way. The remarkable stories of ordinary New Zealanders with extraordinary hearts have been documented in the film "FOOTPRINTS OF HOPE" and  screened on NZ television.
In 2009, Sharon Thorburn wrote her song "Light a Candle" while sitting at a borrowed piano in New Hampshire, U.S.A.
The "Light a Candle" song is her personal response to the cycle of domestic violence, addiction and abuse confronting our children globally.
